Just found this article by John ‘Hadd’ Walsh which I downloaded years ago. One of the best articles on running training I have ever read. I particularly like Part IV where he describes how he coached ‘Joe’. Great evidence for the importance of patient aerobic development through consistent high mileage.

Used to be an ok runner. PB's of 16.20 5km, 34.46 10km, 01:16 half, 02:46 marathon. Then working long hours as a freelancer and house renovations took over. Resorted to drinking beer every night and eating out all of the time. Now I am a fat skinny person! With the big 4-0 looming this is last chance saloon to sort myself out and try and better some of those PB's. View all posts by beerbellytosub35minute10km
